When renovating a garage finish or an outdoor concrete slab, it may be necessary to level the old surface by a few centimeters. With Harmony Stampable Overlay, you can easily re-level your floors with a thin layer ranging from 1 cm to 5 cm.
This fine layer of mortar, applied as a hardening slurry, is spread over an existing slab to create a stable and smooth surface, perfect for laying tiles or applying decorative concrete finishes such as stamped concrete.
How to Elevate an Outdoor Concrete Slab with Harmony Stampable Overlay
To level your outdoor concrete slab and increase its height by 1 to 2 cm, Harmony Stampable Overlay is the ideal solution.
Typically, pouring a slab between 1 and 3 cm thick can result in cracks. To avoid this, a minimum thickness of 5 cm is recommended for traditional concrete slabs. However, with Harmony Stampable Overlay, you can pour a thinner layer without the risk of cracking!
Specially formulated to be poured in a very thin layer, without the need for rebar, mesh, or fibers, Harmony Stampable Overlay is composed of mineral and synthetic aggregates, along with cement enriched with additives, ensuring the strength of the surface. It’s designed for colored slabs but also works perfectly for other decorative concrete finishes like stamped concrete.
Harmony Stampable Overlay for Stamped Concrete
Harmony Stampable Overlay is particularly suited for creating stamped concrete. Applied in a few millimeters over an existing surface, you can then add the stamp and colored release agent to bring out the desired textures: cobblestone, brick, opus, wood, and more.
- Mix Harmony Stampable Overlay with water to create a perfectly smooth slurry.
- Spread the mixture across the entire surface and smooth it to the desired thickness.
- Once leveled, apply Harmony Colored Release Agent.
Harmony Stampable Overlay on a Standard Surface
To level a concrete slab, follow these steps:
- Clean and dust the existing surface using Harmony Neutral Cleaner.
- Prepare the surface with Prim Granité Universel: apply in cross passes using a roller.
- Once the primer is completely dry, mix Harmony Stampable Overlay with water until you achieve a fluid, lump-free consistency.
- Spread the slurry evenly across the surface with screeds to a thickness of 1 to 2 cm.
- Smooth the mixture using a steel trowel.
- Finish by applying Harmony Cure SL.
This method ensures a durable and seamless re-leveling of your surfaces.
